Pastoral Mentor – SEMH School, Gateshead

A specialist SEMH school in Ferryhill is seeking compassionate and committed Pastoral Mentors to join its dedicated team.

The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, creating a safe and nurturing environment where young people can develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing pastoral and emotional support throughout the school day
  • Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
  • Promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing
  • Building trusting and supportive relationships with pupils
  • Supporting attendance and engagement
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, caring and supportive approach
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A passion for helping young people achieve success
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
