Full‑Time BSL Teaching Assistant – Gateshead

Protocol Education is recruiting for a caring and nurturing school in Gateshead that is seeking a full‑time BSL Teaching Assistant from September. The school is committed to ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Role Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with hearing and communication needs
Using BSL to facilitate understanding and participation
Delivering one‑to‑one and group support sessions
Encouraging communication and independence
Assisting with emotional wellbeing and confidence building
Working closely with teaching and support staff

Candidate Profile

BSL Level 2 qualified
Passionate about supporting children and young people
Positive, patient and resilient
Experience in a school or support setting is advantageous
Full UK driving licence required
