Psychology Graduate Support Assistant – Gateshead

Join a specialist school in Gateshead where relationships, wellbeing and personalised support are at the heart of everything they do.

We are looking for a Psychology graduate who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and succeed both academically and personally.

This role offers the chance to work closely with pupils who benefit from additional emotional, behavioural and learning support, while gaining invaluable experience for future careers in psychology and education.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Promoting positive engagement with learning
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Supporting classroom activities and interventions
Requirements
  • Psychology degree or relevant qualification
  • Empathy, patience and resilience
  • Strong communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
