Salary £26,824 – £28,142 pro rata to term time working, actual salary £23,287 – £24,876. Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part‑way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.
Responsibilities- Support tutors to deliver high‑quality teaching and learning.
- Prepare and adapt learning resources to meet the needs of pupils, including those with SEND.
- Maintain safe, engaging and well‑organised learning environments that celebrate achievement.
- Support the social, emotional and mental health needs of pupils, including helping them regulate and re‑engage when needed.
- Use relational approaches to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively as part of a team.
- Share observations about barriers to learning and progress with tutors.
- Collate and report attendance data to schools in a timely way.
- Monitor and manage resources, ensuring they are maintained and replenished.
- Contribute to team meetings and share updates on pupil welfare.
- Take on responsibilities such as First Aider and Fire Warden (with training as needed).
- Work flexibly across different areas of the service depending on need.
- Undertake duties appropriate to the grade of the role.
- Knowledge of KS3/KS4 curriculum (English, Maths or Science), SEND needs, trauma‑informed approaches, safeguarding, and willingness to undertake First Aid and Fire Warden training.
- Experience supporting secondary‑aged children and young people, including those who are neurodivergent or have social, emotional and mental health needs or school‑based anxiety.
- Ability to support learning, adapt resources and help pupils re‑engage with education and improve attendance.
- Strong relational skills to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families.
- Experience contributing to inclusive learning environments and supporting pupil wellbeing and self‑regulation.
- Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) or comparable experience, with commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to travel as required with appropriate driving arrangements.
- Required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and to commence employment in September 2026.
