Role Overview

We are seeking to appoint Associate Educational Psychologists to join our supportive and dynamic team. As a service we are committed to the application of solution‑oriented approaches and evidence‑based psychology to promote inclusion and achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. We have a central base in Gateshead and are also hybrid working.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the Statutory Needs Assessment of children and young people with special educational needs by providing effective, high‑quality and outcomes‑based psychological advice.
  • Engage with other work if the need arises.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working within local authorities as an Educational Psychologist.
  • Honours Degree in Psychology providing eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Postgraduate training in Educational Psychology recognised by the Health Care Professions Council and HCPC registration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and issues within Special Educational Needs and school improvement.
  • Experience using applied psychology and evidence‑based practice with children, young people and associated professionals in education and community settings.
  • Current driving licence and access to a car or means of mobility support.
