Behaviour Learning Mentor

Are you an experienced and committed Behaviour Mentor with a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking SEND school that is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with a range of behaviour needs on a full-time basis.

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex ASC and behavioural needs
• Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
• Implement structured routines and behaviour support strategies
• Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and safety
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
• Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

• Supportive, inclusive environment with small class sizes
• Collaborative multi-disciplinary team (teachers, therapists, support staff)

• Access to specialist training (autism approaches, behaviour support, therapy‑led strategies)

• Agency staff are fully integrated into the wider school team

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC
• Understanding of behaviour, communication, and sensory needs
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Willingness to support personal care needs
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Reliable, committed, and looking for a long‑term opportunity

• Experience in a specialist provision or ASC unit
• Knowledge of approaches such as visual supports, structured teaching, or intensive interaction
• Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or
  3)
