Location:Gateshead
Contract: Term-time only
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday – Friday
Start:March 2026

Milk Education is working in partnership with a Primary School based in Gateshead to work with children with SEMH needs and Autism. We are seeking a versatile, resilient and creative Behaviour Support Assistant to support a class with a tailored approach to the unique needs of each pupil. The school adopts a deeply student-focused approach to help all students enhance their independence and achieve their goals.

They do this by creating a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Key responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Provide guidance and support to individuals, adapting to their needs
  • Support across the curriculum, offering a holistic approach to learning
  • Complete daily logs, attend reviews and progress meetings
  • Collaborate with other support staff, teachers, and senior leaders to ensure the best outcomes for learners
About you as a Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support is preferred
  • Resilient, creative and proactive
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with learners and the team
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed
Education
  • Bachelor’s (preferred not essential)
Experience
  • Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
