We're looking for compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant
to support pupils in our welcoming Gateshead
primary school
from September. You'll play a key role in helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive learning environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs.
- Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine commitment to supporting children's development.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
