Hours: 11:30–14:30, Monday – Friday
Start: September
Pay: £16.50–£17.00 per hour

Lunchtime Supervisor– Role Overview
As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising pupils during lunch, both in the dining hall and on the playground. You will help create a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment while encouraging positive behaviour and supporting children’s social development.
You will work closely with school staff to ensure pupils have a positive lunchtime experience and that school policies are followed at all times.
Lunchtime Supervisor– Key Responsibilities Pupil Supervision
- Supervise pupils during lunch in the dining hall, playground, and other designated areas
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils throughout the lunchtime period
- Encourage positive behaviour and respectful interactions between children
- Promote inclusive play and support pupils in developing positive friendships
- Respond appropriately to minor incidents and report any concerns to senior staff
- Monitor pupils to ensure they follow school rules and expectations
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised dining environment
- Administer basic first aid where appropriate or report injuries in line with school procedures
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other lunchtime supervisors
- Promote the welfare and wellbeing of all pupils
- Support the school’s positive behaviour policy
- Contribute positively to the wider school community
– Essential Criteria
- Previous experience working with children professionally
- A caring, patient, and approachable manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A proactive and reliable approach to supporting children’s wellbeing
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Must live locally to Whickham—no relocation
