Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Full-time & Part-time opportunities available)
Start: September
Pay: £107.71 per day

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Are you considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, or another child-focused profession?

Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Whickham to recruit passionate Psychology Graduates to support pupils with SEND from September. This is an excellent opportunity to develop hand-on experience within a supportive school environment while making a real difference to children’s learning and wellbeing.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Support children with their learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Encourage engagement and independence throughout the school day.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Implement behaviour support strategies to promote positive outcomes.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback where appropriate.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

• A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject).
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Must live locally to Whickham or be able to commute daily—no relocation.
