Job Title: Psychology Graduate
- School SEND Support Location: Whickham Hours: Monday
- Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Full-time & Part-time opportunities available)
Start: September Pay: £107.71 per day
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Are you considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, or another child-focused profession?
Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Whickham to recruit passionate Psychology Graduates to support pupils with SEND from September. This is an excellent opportunity to develop hands‑on experience within a supportive school environment while making a real difference to children's learning and wellbeing.
Psychology Graduate- School SEND Support
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Support children with their learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Encourage engagement and independence throughout the school day.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Implement behaviour support strategies to promote positive outcomes.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback where appropriate.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community.

- Essential Criteria
- A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject).
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Must live locally to Whickham or be able to commute daily—no relocation.
