A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gateshead is looking for a compassionate and motivated Psychology graduate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant from September.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support, gaining invaluable experience within a school setting while making a genuine difference to young people's lives.

About the RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Work closely with children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Observe behaviour, learning and emotional development.
- Encourage positive behaviour using nurturing strategies.
- Help create a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with pupils, teachers and families.

- A degree in Psychology (or a related subject).
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
- Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
