A supportive primary school in Gateshead is looking for a motivated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to become confident, independent learners. Staff work closely together to provide high-quality support and ensure pupils with different abilities and learning needs can fully participate in school life.
This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Level 3 Teaching and Learning graduate, or someone with a Level 3 Childcare/Education qualification looking to take their next step.
About the RoleYou will:
- Work alongside the class teacher to support high-quality learning.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support.
- Assist with targeted interventions.
- Support pupils across the primary age range.
- Help children overcome barriers to learning.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Support pupils with SEND where appropriate.
- Prepare classroom resources and learning activities.
- Help maintain a calm, organised and engaging classroom.
- Observe pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 3 qualification in Education, Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or a relevant discipline

- Understands the importance of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Is patient, enthusiastic and reliable.
- Can build strong relationships with children.
- Works well as part of a wider school team.
- Is committed to helping every pupil reach their potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
