Protocol Education are recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Gateshead, supporting children and young people with physical and medical needs
.

This is an opportunity to step into a specialist role where your skills can have a direct impact on a pupil's ability to learn, communicate, participate and become more independent

Alongside classroom support, you'll gain experience with assistive technology, specialist equipment and accessible learning

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing personalised support to children and young people.
  • Helping pupils overcome physical and medical barriers to learning.
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting the use of assistive technology and specialist ICT.
  • Setting up and checking specialist equipment.
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum using alternative methods.
  • Supporting mobility, positioning and physical access where required.
  • Working alongside specialist teachers and wider professionals.
  • Recording observations and providing feedback.
  • Helping schools and families use equipment safely and effectively.
What You'll Need
  • Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Experience supporting physical and/or medical needs is highly desirable.
  • Good ICT skills and an interest in assistive technology.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills.
  • A patient, proactive and adaptable approach.
  • The confidence to work across multiple settings.
  • A full, clean driving licence and your own vehicle – essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
