SEN Teacher | SEMH & Behaviour | Gateshead

Protocol Education are recruiting for a resilient and confident SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Gateshead
, supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
The pupils may have found mainstream education challenging and require a teacher who can provide structure, consistency and a personalised approach to learning
.
Location: Gateshead
Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: As soon as available
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours
Salary: £31,650–£51,048 per annum / PAYE, dependent on experience and qualifications
As the teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons
- Adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Establish clear routines, expectations and boundaries
- Manage behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
- Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs
- Build strong, professional relationships
- Encourage pupils to engage with learning
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly
- Work towards EHCP targets
- Promote independence and confidence
- Work closely with TAs, pastoral staff and other professionals
We're looking for a teacher who is:
- Resilient and calm under pressure
- Confident managing challenging behaviour
- Patient and consistent
- Adaptable in their teaching
- Passionate about working with young people
- Skilled at building positive relationships
- Comfortable working as part of a wider team
Experience with in SEMH, SEND, PRU, alternative provision or behaviour-focused settings would be highly desirable.
Mainstream teachers with strong behaviour management skills and an interest in moving into specialist education are also encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
