Pay: £120–£140 per day, dependent on experience
Protocol Education are recruiting for an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Gateshead provision supporting pupils with physical and medical needs
.
This is a varied role combining classroom support with specialist equipment, assistive technology and accessible learning
. You'll work as part of a wider team to help pupils participate fully in school life and develop greater independence.
- Provide day-to-day support to pupils with physical and medical needs.
- Support learning and adapt activities to individual requirements.
- Promote independence and confidence.
- Help pupils use assistive technology.
- Set up and check specialist equipment.
- Support accessible ICT and communication technology.
- Use alternative communication methods where required.
- Resolve basic equipment issues where possible.
- Support safe movement, positioning and physical access.
- Follow individual health and support plans.
- Work alongside specialist teachers and other professionals.
- Monitor progress and share observations.
- Support colleagues with inclusive practice and equipment.
- Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working within SEND or specialist education.
- Experience supporting pupils with physical and/or medical needs.
- Good ICT skills.
- Confidence learning new technology and equipment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across different settings.
- Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
