Protocol Education is recruiting a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Gateshead
.

This is an opportunity to work directly with children and young people who require additional support, while gaining valuable experience that can support your future career.

You don't need to have worked in a SEND school before. You'll be supported by experienced teachers and education professionals as you develop your understanding of individual needs.

Depending on the needs of the pupils, your responsibilities could include:

• Providing 1:1 support
• Supporting small-group activities
• Helping pupils access their learning
• Supporting communication and interaction
• Encouraging positive behaviour
• Helping pupils develop emotional regulation
• Supporting social skills
• Promoting independence and confidence
• Assisting with classroom routines
• Building positive relationships with pupils

A Psychology degree can provide a strong foundation for understanding child development, behaviour, communication and individual differences
.

This role gives you the opportunity to develop that knowledge further while gaining genuine experience within a specialist education setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
