KS1 Support Assistant
Whickham | Full-time, Monday-Friday | £107.71 per day
We’re currently looking for a KS1 Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Whickham
. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you’re working towards a career in teaching, looking to expand your experience within education, or simply passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives.
The Role
As a KS1 Support Assistant, you’ll help pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing, supporting them to grow in confidence and become more independent.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
- Encourage communication, confidence and independence
- Support children with their learning and self-management skills
- Work alongside teachers and other education professionals
- Help create a positive, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
- Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting
- Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare, Education or a related subject is preferred
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, positive and enthusiastic approach
- An understanding of additional needs and inclusive support
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
