Teaching Assistant - Psychology Graduate

Protocol Education is seeking a Psychology Graduate to work as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant within a Gateshead school.

The successful candidate will provide consistent support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them participate in learning, develop positive relationships and build greater independence.

This role would suit a graduate looking to gain professional experience before pursuing a career in education, psychology, SEND or a related field
.

• Deliver consistent 1:1 support
• Assist the pupil with classroom activities
• Encourage engagement and participation
• Support communication and social development
• Promote positive behaviour
• Support emotional regulation
• Encourage independence
• Develop a positive professional relationship
• Observe and communicate relevant changes or progress
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff

We're looking for a graduate who demonstrates:

• Confidence working with children and young people
• A genuine interest in SEND and child development

A Psychology degree is desirable, although applications from graduates with relevant backgrounds may also be considered.

This could provide a useful foundation for future applications in Educational Psychology, Teaching, SEND, Child Psychology, Mental Health or therapy-related professions
