Service Centre Manager

The Role

Permanent, Full Time. The purpose of the role is to be responsible and accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the engineering workshop. This encompasses health and safety, cost control, engineering standards, efficient operating practices, engineering staff management, management of workflow, and housekeeping.

• Manage employees to organise and control workload and requirements.
• Check that the paperwork produced for each job, including timesheets and job cards, is correctly completed.
• Ensure the safe operation of the workshop.
• Ensure workflow and timely delivery of the workshop output.
• Assist in the development of new services and initiatives.
• Undertake self‑development activities as required by the business.
• Assist in training and development of others.
• Comply with both Rubix and customer health‑and‑safety requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the workshop or facilities.
• Prepare accurate quotes within required time frames based on urgency.
• Maintain the order book and forecast figures on a weekly basis for the Engineering Director.
• Use our IT systems – K8, CRM, etc.
• Visit customer sites to promote services and grow sales.
• Assist and carry out disciplinary action where necessary.
• Prioritise workload effectively.

• Previous experience in an engineering environment.
• Experienced mechanical or electrical engineer.
• Strong communication skills.
• Analytical thinker.
• Computer literate with office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Self‑starter capable of working under own initiative.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Relationship builder.
