Senior Electrical Design Engineer

An established UK‑based engineering and construction group, operating across complex technical and critical infrastructure environments, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of high‑value, mission‑critical projects.

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, the role will involve :

• Leading electrical services design from concept through detailed design and commissioning
• Designing and reviewing HV and LV power systems, including primary distribution, UPS, generators and standby systems
• Producing design calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports
• Delivering electrical solutions aligned with redundancy, resilience and uptime requirements
• Coordinating with mechanical, structural and architectural teams to ensure integrated design
• Supporting site activities, commissioning, FAT / SAT testing and project handover
• Engaging with clients and contributing to value engineering and risk mitigation

The successful Senior Electrical Design Engineer will demonstrate :

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Extensive experience in electrical services design within data centres or similarly critical environments
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, resilience strategies and mission‑critical infrastructure
• Familiarity with industry standards such as BS 7671, CIBSE and relevant IEC standards
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and electrical design and calculation software
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead complex technical work streams
