Internal Technical Sales Engineer Industrial Electrical Control & Automation

Our Client has a requirement for an Internal Sales Engineer with experience in electrical control and automation to provide sales and technical support to the external customer base, whilst developing and maintaining customer relationships and promoting products and services to maximise sales opportunities. You are most likely to be living in North of the Tyne area, including North Shields, Whitley Bay, Wallsend, Longbenton, Jesmond, Cramlington, and Blyth to commute.

• Respond to and handle all product technical enquiries.
• Understand and be familiar with the full product range and offer alternatives if required, advising on product selection.
• Liaise with Field Sales Engineers and other staff to achieve branch objectives and sales performance; engage in other duties as needed.
• Generate quotations for customers and judge competitive situations needed to win orders while being mindful of profitability.
• Assist in developing and maintaining customer relationships to maximise sales opportunities.

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Relevant knowledge and experience demonstrated, possibly ONC/HNC in electrical engineering or another electrical engineering qualification.
• Experience in a similar sales/customer service environment.
• Experience with an electrical engineering role or background in electrical distribution would be an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
• Full clean driving licence.

• Technical electrical knowledge and commercial awareness.
• Ability to illustrate good customer and administrative skills.
• Experience as an internal sales engineer, technical support engineer, electrical engineer aiming to move into a commercial environment, or a graduate engineer with customer experience in a sales environment.
