Multi-skilled Engineer

Overview

Multi-skilled Engineer 3 Shift Rotating (6-2 2-10 10-6). Valeo Foods UK is recruiting for a Multi-skilled Engineer to join the Gateshead site, home of tortilla crisps and rice cakes. • Daily repair of machinery and carry out proactive tasks where possible
• Plan and monitor machine performance
• Monitor and respond to failures
• Provide support to external contractors
• Provide technical support for production when required
• Maintain the highest standards in housekeeping (clean as you go)
• Maintain high standards for completing paperwork and works sign off
• Promote and contribute to continuous improvement of the running of the site
• Minimise downtime and train/guide production staff in the correct handling of machinery
• Assist in training maintenance technicians from within the department
• Work on projects as allocated by the Engineering Manager
• Perform any other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager

• Health & Safety and safe work practices
• Food safety and minimising day-to-day risks associated with running the plant and involving contractors
• Plan is critical to ensure the company meets its targets
• Firefighting machinery/site services upkeep and ongoing maintenance
• Preventive maintenance (PPM) in a timely manner
• Promote and contribute to continuous improvement of plant operations
• Minimise downtime and support production staff
• Training colleagues in proper operation and maintenance of plant equipment
• Collaborate on projects as directed by the Engineering Manager
