Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Vertu House, Team Valley, Gateshead
Salary: £25,603.50 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team in our Head Office in Gateshead. This role covers a wide range of banking, treasury, payroll, and reconciliation responsibilities, supporting accurate and efficient financial operations across the business.

Key Responsibilities Banking & Treasury
  • Completing bank reconciliations
    .
  • Managing VPAY bank accounts
    .
  • Processing intercompany transfers
    .
  • Handling treasury deposits
    , treasury loans
    , and administering treasury fines
    .
  • Updating and maintaining cash flow reporting.
Payroll & Payments
  • Processing payroll payments and payroll transfers
    .
  • Administering court orders relating to payroll.
  • Managing insurance monies and associated transactions.
Systems & Administration
  • Acting as Barclays system administrator
    , including user amendments and system updates.
  • Managing CBS processes.
  • Handling service plan payments and reconciliations.
Reconciliations & Reporting
  • Completing a range of account reconciliations
    .
  • Supporting month‑end and year‑end activities when required.
About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in an accounts or finance support role.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and strong numerical skills.
  • Can manage a varied workload and work to deadlines.
  • Is confident using finance systems and Excel.
  • Has a proactive, problem‑solving approach.
  • AAT qualification (or currently studying) is preferred but not essential.
