Assistant Business Controller

Blair West are supporting Kavli, to find an Assistant Business Controller (Business Partner). This opportunity has arisen due to internal promotions within the finance team, highlighting strong progression pathways within the business.

Sitting within a well-established finance function, this role will report into a recently promoted Senior Business Controller and will support the delivery of financial insight across the wider organisation. It offers an excellent first move into industry for a practice-trained, part-qualified accountant.

• Support the Senior Business Controller and wider team in providing financial insight and analysis to stakeholders across the business.
• Assist with the preparation of financial presentations and reports, both on a proactive basis and in response to business needs.
• Support scenario modelling and analysis to help inform decision-making.
• Liaise with Financial Accountants and other finance team members to ensure accurate and consistent information flow.
• Assist with product costings, working with cross‑functional teams to gather relevant data.
• Support the production of product contribution and customer profitability reporting, highlighting key trends and areas of focus.
• Assist in the preparation and coordination of KPI reporting and follow‑up actions.
• Support preparation for management meetings and contribute where required.
• Work alongside the Senior Business Controller to help develop and improve reporting processes and outputs.
• Provide financial support on key business projects as required.

• Part‑qualification, are a newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or actively studying towards a qualification.
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice, looking to make a first move into industry.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyse data effectively.
• A proactive approach with a genuine interest in developing commercial and business partnering skills.
• The ability to build relationships across different teams and support stakeholders with financial insight.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively as part of a close‑knit finance team.
• The desire to learn and develop within a progressive and supportive environment.
