This will be done through deduction from your monthly pay over a maximum of three months. Job overviewAre you passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and looking to progress your career in diagnostic imaging? We are seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to join our forward-thinking Radiology team.
This role offers the opportunity to rotate between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead
, and satellite sites including Blaydon Primary Care Centre and our new Community Diagnostic Centre at the Metrocentre
. You will support a broad range of imaging services including CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound and General X-ray
, working alongside Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, Sonographers, Nurses and administrative teams.
As a higher-level support role, you will contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the department while supporting patients through all stages of their diagnostic journey. This is a varied and rewarding post within a modern, expanding service where no two days are the same.

As a Radiology Support Worker (Higher Level), you will play a central role in supporting the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-centred imaging services across a 7-day service.
Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will provide practical, clinical and organisational support across imaging modalities, helping to maintain patient flow, prepare examination areas, and support diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will also take responsibility for supervising and supporting Radiology Support Workers, contributing to staff coordination and service continuity.
The role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities within a busy clinical environment. You will support high standards of care, dignity and safety, while contributing to the effective operation of the Radiology Department across multiple sites.
