Project Support role in Cancer & Dementia Care, funded for a fixed term. Based in Tyne and Wear with some hybrid/site-based requirements. Part time, 18.5 hours per week. Applications close Monday, July 13, 2026.

Cancer & Dementia Care Link Worker (Palliative Care) – post funded by Mac Millan Cancer Care

Fixed Term 24 month contract

18.5 hours per week (part time). Monday to Friday with some weekend and evening flexibility. Full or part-time applications will be considered.

QE Hospital, Gateshead / Edberts House; some hybrid working.

£27,311 FTE per annum/pro rata (currently under review).

25 days holiday per year, plus statutory holidays pro rata.

We’re looking for a dedicated Cancer & Dementia Care Link Worker to support people living with life-limiting illness, cancer, and dementia within the Specialist Palliative Care Team.

A community-led charity committed to reducing health inequalities and building stronger communities in Gateshead.

• Provide personalised, holistic support
• Support shared decision-making
• Address practical and emotional needs
• Promote dementia-friendly approaches
• Work closely with clinical teams

• Experience in supporting vulnerable people with complex needs
• Ability to work within Edberts House’s values
• An enhanced DBS is required for this post
