Support Worker (Supported Living Service) – Part Time (18–25 hours per week)
Empowering adults to thrive in their own homes and communities.
Responsibilities- Promote and uphold the rights and dignity of each tenant, considering individual vulnerabilities, needs and identified outcomes.
- Support tenants’ needs and ensure risks are managed while maintaining individual choices and preferences; provide personal care where required.
- Work within the Enablement Framework to promote independence, self‑management and citizenship, respecting privacy, dignity and choice, and being aware of social and emotional wellbeing.
- Support tenants in a community setting following their person‑centred care and support plan.
- Encourage tenants to make choices about activities in the home and wider community, ensuring plans are supported.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues, tenants, advocacy services, carers and other professionals to share knowledge, seek advice and coordinate provision of care and support.
- Carry out administrative duties within the household as directed, maintaining records to a satisfactory standard and ensuring implementation, monitoring and evaluation of support plans.
- Assist householders with household tasks, planning, preparation and serving of meals and general living skills, ensuring safety and security of the home.
- Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Good understanding of adult social care legislation and standards, including safeguarding, mental capacity, health and safety and person‑centred practice.
- Understanding of the values and ethos of Supported Living, with a genuine belief in promoting choice, dignity, independence and inclusion.
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or complex needs, or strong transferable skills from a wider care setting.
- Effective communication skills with individuals, families, colleagues and professionals, using written, verbal and IT‑based methods.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
- A caring, respectful and empowering approach, confidence to support assessed care needs while encouraging independence and life skills.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a DBS check and an enhanced Disclosure.
