Support Worker - Ryton

Overview

Mencap is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our team in Ryton. As a Support Worker, you will help individuals with learning disabilities live independently and participate in activities. You will support a diverse group of people with their daily needs and provide emotional support as part of a welcoming team.

• Assist with daily activities and provide intimate personal care as required.
• Support four gentlemen aged between 52 and 81 in participating in social activities, such as weekly art and craft groups, music sessions, discos, voluntary work, bowling, cinema and theatre trips, socialising, and meals out.
• Work with a friendly, established team and an approachable manager to deliver high-quality care.
• Contribute to a safe and respectful environment and build meaningful relationships with clients.

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

• All services provide 24-hour care with rotas prepared at least 4 weeks in advance to help you plan your personal and social life.
• There is a sleep-in option with an enhanced flat rate payment of £64.20.
• Roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
