Location:
Gateshead. Join Medacs Healthcare as a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor. Are you an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise?
Conduct face‑to‑face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner.
Analyse medical evidence and clinical information.
Produce accurate, detailed and evidence‑based written reports.
Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks.
Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues.
Attend the assessment centre as required.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist.
- Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
- Minimum 1 year of UK clinical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed).
- Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
- Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles.
- Confidence in producing high‑quality written clinical reports.
- No evenings, weekends or bank holidays.
- 25 days annual leave + birthday off.

You’ll enjoy this role if you prefer structured assessments and clear clinical frameworks, feel confident using computers and learning new clinical systems, enjoy writing detailed high‑quality reports, value routine, consistency, and a balanced working pattern, and are keen to learn and develop with openness to constructive feedback.
This role might not be right for you if you are looking to stay in hands‑on clinical care or fast‑paced, acute settings, prefer minimal structure, do not enjoy detailed report writing, find working mainly with digital systems frustrating, would be uncomfortable with re‑training for a different type of clinical role, or would feel uncomfortable working in a role with targets and quality measures.
