Job overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Specialist Occupational Therapist within the Adult Community Treatment team in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity to practice the fundamental skills of Occupational Therapy in a supportive and supervised environment. We work holistically to develop new skills and build brighter futures for people and use the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) to structure assessments, 1:1 and group interventions.
We strive to support people in overcoming barriers to meaningful activity by working on individual goals and enabling personal recovery.
We are looking for a motivated, confident, friendly person who is happy to work in a busy and sometimes pressurised multi disciplinary team.
We need someone who understands the importance of maintaining an occupational focus in the team and be able to advocate the value of activity in people’s recovery journey.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be supported to manage a caseload of service users in line with the requirements of the Community Treatment team and that safe, evidence based, effective, culturally competent care is delivered in a timely manner to service users.
