Are you an experienced Cleaning, Facilities, Accommodation or Hospitality leader who takes pride in creating exceptional environments and delivering outstanding service?

At Sodexo, we're looking for a proactive and people-focused Commercial and Cleaning Manager to lead cleaning and operational standards across four vibrant student accommodation sites supporting the Northumbria University community.

This is more than a cleaning management role. You'll be responsible for creating welcoming, safe and spotless living environments where students can thrive, while leading, developing and inspiring a dedicated team to deliver consistently high standards.

About the Role

As Commercial and Cleaning Manager, you'll:

Lead and motivate cleaning teams across four student accommodation sites.
Drive exceptional cleaning, presentation and hygiene standards throughout the portfolio.
Manage staffing, rotas, absence cover and resource planning.
Carry out inspections, audits and quality checks to ensure standards never slip.
Champion health, safety and compliance across all areas of responsibility.
Take ownership of cleaning operations within the on-site Common Ground Café.
Support student arrivals, departures, commercial stays and key university events.
Use digital cleaning management systems to improve efficiency, accountability and service delivery.
Work closely with colleagues, university stakeholders and contractors to continuously improve the student experience.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience managing cleaning, facilities, housekeeping or hospitality operations, ideally across multiple sites.
Strong people management skills with experience leading, motivating and developing operational teams.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage changing demands.
Good understanding of cleaning standards, Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a customer-focused approach.
Confident using digital systems, reporting tools and performance management processes.
A proactive, hands-on leader who takes ownership, maintains high standards and drives continuous improvement.
