Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased)

Location:

Gateshead
Salary: £52,500 per annum

Hours:

4 on 4 off – 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am (rotating shifts)

We’re looking for a talented Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join a leading manufacturing business in Gateshead.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out engineering tasks in line with PPM schedules and targets
Respond promptly to breakdowns and prioritise repair work effectively
Monitor machine performance and support improvements in efficiency
Work closely with planning teams to coordinate machine availability
Provide technical support to production teams as required
Support external contractors on site when needed
Ensure all documentation and sign-offs are completed accurately
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety at all times

About You:

Time-served engineer with relevant qualifications (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent)
Strong electrical fault-finding skills with mechanical knowledge
Able to safely isolate, access, and work within control panels
Experienced in fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environments
Able to fully strip, reassemble, and adjust production machinery
PC literate and comfortable using maintenance systems
Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented with a hands-on approach
