Machine Operative

Location: Gateshead

Hours: Rotating shifts: 7am‑3pm / 3pm‑11pm / 11pm‑7am

Pay: £12.80 per hour

About the Company

Our client is a nationwide manufacturer based in Tanfield, operating since 2016. They supply the packaging supply chain and produce over 300 million units, making them a key player in their sector. The family‑owned, forward‑thinking organisation focuses on innovation, quality and continuous improvement. They are looking for reliable and motivated operatives to join their production team.

The Role

As a Machine Operative, you will operate machinery, check finished products and ensure all goods meet quality standards before they are packed and sent out. Your duties include:

  • Operating production machinery safely and efficiently
  • Quality checking products to ensure they meet required standards
  • Identifying and reporting any defects or issues
  • Packing finished goods in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Lifting and handling stock as part of the production process
  • Completing basic production paperwork
  • Keeping your work area clean, tidy and safe
  • Supporting the wider team to meet production targets
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a production, packing or manufacturing environment
  • A good eye for detail and quality
  • The ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good reliability and timekeeping
  • The ability to lift and handle stock
  • Flexibility to support business needs when required
