An exciting opportunity has arisen in Critical Care for a Band 6 deputy sister/ charge nurse.
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Critical Care Nurse who is open to change and continually striving for excellence to join this leadership team.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the ward managers in all aspects of leadership and management including supporting the critical care team to continually develop the service. You will also support the educational facilitator in staff development.

- internal rotation to day and night duties
Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

Job responsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the ward manager and deputising in their absence. In this you will be assisting to lead a team of dedicated and committed staff, securing and assuring the highest standards of safe and quality patient care.
You must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Interested individuals must be able to demonstrate strong leadership, be proactive and have a keen willingness to learn as well as share knowledge. Recent experience of implementing change and participating in audit would be advantageous.
The successful candidate must have a vision for the development of the critical care service and have the skills, enthusiasm and drive to undertake this exciting role.
Person Specification Qualifications- RN (Adult) with current NMC Registartion
- Degree in Nursing / working towards
- Be in possession of critical care competencies one, two & three
- Practice Assessor
- Evidence of on-going professional development
- Significant experience at Band 5 in critical care
- Able to facilitate and support learning
- Staff management and performance
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to use initiative and problem solving skills
- Clinical skills relevant to speciality
