Staff Nurse

Staff Nurse post at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, working as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Trust's Neighbourhood Wave programme on joined-up care. The work centres on safe, evidence-based nursing assessment, planning and delivery from admission to discharge in designated clinical areas, with patient experience at its core. The role stands out for its requirement to work flexibly across other areas of the Trust when needed, and for recognising and escalating the deteriorating patient.

Applicants need current NMC registration.

• Practise in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust policies, procedures and guidelines
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Carry out clinical practice in designated areas, covering nursing assessment, planning, implementation and interventions from admission to discharge
• Work with colleagues and services across the organisation to give an excellent patient experience and a seamless patient journey

• Current NMC registration
• Evidence of recent continuing professional development

• Knowledge of escalation and recognition of the deteriorating patient
• Flexibility to work in other areas of the Trust when required to keep patient care safe

• Qualifications in mentorship
• Experience of working in an acute care setting

• Support to build confidence, clinical skills and professional practice, whether newly registered or experienced
