Job Overview

To be employed in this role you must be over the age of 18 and pass an enhanced safeguarding check. Our stores operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering a wide variety of shift patterns. If you need flexible working to fit your lifestyle, we can accommodate you, but late and weekend work is a requirement.

• Prepare patients for eye examinations and explain each stage of the eye test.
• Complete pre‑screening examinations and book appointments.
• Dispense spectacles and contact lenses, handle repairs and adjustments, and ensure stock is received from suppliers.
• Provide friendly and relaxed customer service, resolving issues and guiding customers to appropriate products.
• Enroll in the Asda Optical Step‑In training programme or the Level 3 Optical Assistant Apprenticeship as required.

Once fully trained, you can progress your career at Asda Opticians, including the chance to become a GOC registered Dispensing Optician through the Level 6 Apprenticeship.

• Be naturally friendly, highly organized, and proactive.
• Possess good computer skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent communication with customers.
• Enjoy problem solving and be confident with numbers.
• Pass an enhanced safeguarding check and be over 18 years old.
