Retail Assistant - Part Time

Position Overview

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Wrekenton, Gateshead. This is a permanent part‑time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 12 hours worked over 3 days per week, including weekends.

• Hours:
  
  12 hours across 3 days per week.
• Pay: £10.95 - £12.81 per hour (depending on age).

• Ages 16‑20: £10.95 per hour.
• Ages 21+: £12.81 per hour.

• Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offer help to pack, and leave a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
• Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves.
• Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy.

• A friendly, positive and hard‑working approach to work.
• Enjoy being busy, jumping from deliveries to till service, helping customers, completing cleaning and stock rotation routines.
• Reliable and dependable on each shift, being an important part of a small team.
• Flexible with shifts to cover for teammates, with rotas planned three weeks in advance and commitments outside work considered.
• Will complete an Employment Verification check if successful and offered the advertised position.
