- Manage patient accounts and ensure accurate billing and collections processes.
- Assist patients with inquiries regarding their accounts and provide clear explanations of charges and payments.
- Process insurance claims and follow up with insurance companies on unpaid claims.
- Resolve discrepancies in accounts by investigating billing issues and coordinating with other departments as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and account information.
- Provide excellent customer service by listening to patient concerns and addressing them in a professional manner.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient experiences and resolve any issues related to billing or accounts.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or a related field
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Basic knowledge of Excel functionality and insurance remits/payments/denials
- Ability to multitask, work well under time constraints, and meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Reliable access to a vehicle for local errands
- Proficiency in operating a 10-key calculator by touch
- Basic knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid or insurance regulations and business office procedures preferred
