Community Outreach Liaison (COL) – Quality Colors Printing Co
Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet (GAfSP) is dedicated to supporting military service members, veterans, and their pets. Their programs include the Pet Foster Home program, MVP Sanctuary, and Warriors’ Angels training for service dogs.
OverviewThe Community Outreach Liaison (COL) is a virtual volunteer role that serves as a liaison between GAfSP and local communities. The COL will represent the organization at media outlets and information tables at events in the local area and state.
Responsibilities Communications Outreach- Represents the organization at the state level and with military and non‑military media contacts.
- Educates the civilian and military communities about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.
- Develops and maintains relationships with local media and military Public Affairs Offices (PAOs) or recruiter locations.
- Contributes to the organization’s newsletter and blog as appropriate.
- Identifies, contacts, and maintains a list of potential events where an information table can be set up.
- Co‑ordinates with organizations that have requested GAfSP’s presence at fundraising events.
- Submits required documents to the National Office for review and signature.
- Recruits volunteers to help at the event if needed.
- Works with the National Marketing & Communications Director to promote the organization’s participation.
- Understand the organization and its mission.
- Checks the official email account daily.
- Makes timely communications with the National Marketing Director by email or phone.
- Responds to any requests from the National Marketing Director promptly and professionally.
- Prepares and submits the monthly Volunteer Service Hours report to the National Office by the 5th of the following month.
Skills & Qualifications
- Passion for helping military service members, veterans, and their pets.
- Professional, organized, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Understanding of, following, and adherence to the organization’s mission, purpose, and policies.
- Previous public relations or military public affairs officer experience preferred.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office or equivalent software and communication via internet, phone, and email.
- Commitment to at least one year in this position.
- Average 25‑30 hours.
