Accountant, Project Accounting

About the Role

Brookfield Renewable is looking for an Accountant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and can multi-task in an Accounting department. Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, you are accountable for all aspects of the monthly accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial close within tight deadlines, as well as supporting the preparation of the financial reports for various sites under the Solar Platform.

• Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly, quarterly and annual close process;
• Prepare journal entries in Fixed Asset Module for Solar segment
• Review and maintain monthly general ledger accounts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements;
• Maintain Lend Lease payments database for Solar segment and ensure all supporting lease agreements are retained
• Take ownership of assigned companies, work with senior accountants and manager on internal data requests;
• Support in the preparation of financial and management reports for Solar assets;
• Complete SOX / internal control documentation for assigned area of work;
• Coordinate with internal departments and support preparation of quarterly variance analysis;
• Participate in special projects as needed within the department, within a broader finance environment and/or cross-functionally.

• Bachelor's Degree required (Accounting concentration preferred
