Do you see social media as a strategic playground?Select Aviation College is looking for a creative, self-driven, digitally savvy team player to handle our social media with strategy, style and accuracy. Your role: to develop, plan and execute high-impact communications initiatives that will cast a spotlight on the College, its student life and its mission of providing world-class flight training.
You’ll be at the heart of our content strategy, working with marketing, sales, the student community, instructors and everyone else who makes the Select adventure happen.
Key ResponsibilitiesContent Creation
- Create and publish engaging content: copy, photos, videos, vox pops, infographics, etc.
- Keep up with relevant digital and viral trends and propose original content ideas
- Cover major College and student life events (back-to-school, conferences, first solo flights, graduations, field trips, etc.)
- Use visual creation tools (Canva, Cap Cut, Adobe, etc.) to ensure consistent graphic quality
- Monitor performance statistics (insights) and adjust content strategies accordingly
Online Community Management
- Ensure active monitoring for community management (comments, private messages, moderation)
- Reply tactfully and quickly to frequent questions and/or redirect to the right internal resources,
by complementing AI-assisted automated interactions (Manychat) - Carry out regular screening of our strategic partners' social media to identify opportunities for collaboration, co-creation or re-sharing
- Attend weekly strategic content meetings (copy deck, monthly planning, content calendars, etc.)
- Build strong relationships with student pilots, flight instructors, and staff to access authentic content
- Help in occasional updates to Zoho, our internal customer management system (CRM), as needed
- Assist with the design and launch of ad campaigns (Meta Ads, You Tube Ads), as needed
Education & Experience
Above all, we’re looking for someone skilled, motivated, and passionate.
Examples of relevant backgrounds include:
- DVS or post-secondary degree in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design, social media strategy and animation, or any other related field
- One to two years' experience (or provable equivalent) in social media management, community animation, content creation or digital communications coordination
- A portfolio or examples of past work (accounts managed, campaigns, etc.) is welcome
- Concrete experience (1 year or more) in photography and video (shooting, editing, basic subtitling), whether for school, professional or personal projects
- 6 months to 1 year experience in functions related to moderating online communities, customer service or handling personal information
- Experience in a school, college, university, cultural, event or youth environment, an asset
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Mastery of the main digital platforms and social media:
Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, You Tube, Messenger, etc; - Ability to tailor content and strategies according to audience, format (reels, carousels, stories, polls, etc.), tone, performance statistics and objectives specific to each channel
- Ability to meet internal policies for managing confidential personal information in compliance with applicable laws and standards
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft 365, Meta Business Suite, Creator Studio, etc.
- Strong level of French (written and spoken)
- Strong level of English (written and spoken)
- General IT skills, an asset
- Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO), digital advertising (Meta Ads) and interpretation of analytical data (Google Analytics, performance statistics), an asset
- Autonomy, initiative, and an eye for detail
