Marker‑Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
- Master’s Degree Complete ($36.00/hour) – Paid to employees who have completed a master’s degree.
- Undergraduate Degree Complete ($31.04/hour) – Paid to employees who have completed a four‑year honours degree or a three‑year pass degree.
- Third Year Complete ($22.91/hour) – Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduate honours degree.
- Second Year Complete ($20.15/hour) – Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree.
- First Year Complete ($19.00/hour) – Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduate honours degree.
Due to limited hours available not all positions may move beyond the posting stage.
Positions listed on this posting are subject to course enrolments and budgetary approval.
DutiesThe marker‑grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and must provide written feedback that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content and written communication elements such as spelling, punctuation, grammar and overall structure and organization of the submission.
The marker‑grader may also be required to invigilate mid‑terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases upon request of the course instructor.
Qualifications- Must have completed ACTG 1P01 Introduction to Financial Accounting (or equivalent) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
- Graduate of or major in Accounting with a minimum major average of 75%.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.
- Previous marker/grader experience is considered an asset.

- Graduate students enrolled at Brock University shall not accept an appointment in excess of an average of ten (10) hours per week over an academic term without prior permission of the Dean of Graduate Studies.
- Undergraduate students shall not accept more than nine (9) teaching assistant appointments, or the equivalent, per term minus the number of courses in which that student is currently enrolled.
- Part‑time graduate students and non‑students shall not accept any appointment that, combined with other appointments, would exceed the maximum number of regular hours allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act.
Permission to exceed the above workload limits should be obtained prior to application.
