Advanced Field Services Engineer | Permanent

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Field Services Engineer to support, maintain, and optimize automation and control systems across multiple industrial sites. This hands‑on position involves troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance of DCS and SIS systems. You’ll play a key role in delivering reliable technical service, ensuring system integrity, and providing excellent customer support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade DCS, SIS, and automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install, service, and repair control and network equipment both on‑site and in‑house.
  • Configure and administer system domains, controllers, switches, and client‑server architectures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system audits, and hardware/software upgrades.
  • Provide commissioning, startup, and technical support for new and existing installations.
  • Diagnose and resolve logic, programming, and integration issues, including third‑party communication (e.g., OPC).
  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, and deliver reports, training, and presentations.
  • Act as the primary technical contact, ensuring strong customer relationships and continuous service improvement.

Qualifications Required
  • Post‑secondary education in Electronics, Computer Science, Automation, or Instrumentation
  • 5+ years of experience in DCS/process control and networking technologies
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within Ontario, Québec, and New Brunswick
Preferred
  • Experience with virtualization infrastructure
  • Previous field service or installation experience
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and customer management skills
  • Demonstrated initiative in technical learning and professional growth
