As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play an important role in supporting and improving manufacturing and repair operations that help maintain the reliability, quality, and performance of critical power industry equipment. In this role, you will work closely with operations teams, management, unionized employees, and external partners to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions that enhance safety, productivity, efficiency, and quality.

You will manage improvement initiatives from initial investigation through implementation and operational handover, helping to optimize processes and support sustainable operational performance. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement efforts, evaluate new technologies, and support a culture of operational excellence within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you will have a meaningful impact on daily operations while developing your technical, project management, and process improvement capabilities.

How You'll Make an Impact

Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and repair processes through investigation, data review, and process evaluation.

Manage improvement projects from business justification through implementation and transition to operations.

Perform value stream mapping activities to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste.

Develop and implement procedures and processes that support productivity, quality, and cost improvements.

Support compliance with safety, quality, and industry requirements across manufacturing operations.

Evaluate and support the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and automation opportunities.

Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor key performance indicators and support initiatives that improve operational performance.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CAD software.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities.

Experience working in a unionized environment and experience supporting construction projects are considered assets.

In compliance with Ontario’s Pay Transparency requirements, the expected compensation for this role is:

Salary Range: $85,000– $120,000
