At Dayforce, we strive to Make Work Life Better. As a Network Engineer II, you will play a key role in engineering, operating, securing, and continuously improving our global network infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll move beyond primarily operational monitoring and initial support to independently troubleshoot complex network issues, implement and validate network changes, contribute to engineering initiatives, and help improve the resiliency, performance, security, and standardization of the enterprise network. You’ll work closely with Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Infrastructure, application teams, and external partners to deliver reliable and secure connectivity for our business and customers.
Location:
Hybrid (Remote and Office-Based)
- Engineer, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet, VPN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity solutions.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of network performance, routing, switching, wireless, firewall, VPN, DNS, and application connectivity issues, driving incidents through resolution and engaging vendors when required.
- Plan, execute, validate, and document network changes in accordance with established change management processes, with a focus on minimizing risk and business impact.
- Support and administer secure access and cloud security technologies, including Zscaler ZIA/ZPA and Cloudflare services.
- Support firewall platforms and policy changes across technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco, applying least-privilege and security best practices.
- Participate in the design, implementation, migration, upgrade, and lifecycle management of network infrastructure across offices, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Analyze recurring incidents and performance trends, identify root causes, and recommend engineering improvements that increase availability, resiliency, security, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Cloud, Infrastructure, application teams, and external vendors on projects, vulnerability remediation, incident response, and customer-related connectivity requirements.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, methods of procedure (MOPs), implementation plans, validation plans, rollback procedures, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive network operational and engineering activities using APIs, scripting, orchestration, or approved automation platforms.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members and operational resources, and assist with escalations requiring deeper network expertise.
- Participate in Major Incident Management (MIM), problem management, Change Advisory Board (CAB), after-hours maintenance, and on-call activities as required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, network operations, or enterprise infrastructure support, with demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and implement network solutions.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols, including TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, STP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, switching, LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and SD-WAN concepts.
- Required:
Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Zscaler, including ZIA and ZPA, with working knowledge of policies, application access, traffic forwarding, authentication, and connectivity troubleshooting. - Required:
