Temporary Backfill

The Nursing Resource Unit (NRU) provides staffing support to a variety of units throughout the hospital. This position comes with a comprehensive orientation and the opportunity for on-going professional growth and development.

As the
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation.

As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:

• Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope
• Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BCLS
• Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession
• Functions independently within scope of practice
• Computer literacy in current software applications

You will be an ideal candidate for this position if you have:

• Sound problem solving, communications (oral and written), conflict resolution and decision making skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others
• Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service
• Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care
