The QC Technician is responsible for safely implementing Quality Control for production and shipping of our products. The main objective is to ensure the quality and the consistency of the concrete, and to help solve any issues that arise and deal with the situations immediately.

• Test and monitor concrete and aggregate quality for the area and provide monthly reports to the quality control team.
• Implement programs and processes to ensure compliance of all products with relevant Codes, Standards, and Specifications.
• Implement Amrize Quality Program, including sampling, testing, reporting and follow‑up for all products as determined for each site of responsibility.
• Record, monitor and communicate concrete performance with key stakeholders, investigate variances from the Plan and establish corrective actions.
• Provide input to ensure alignment between Sales and Operational staff so that product performance meets customer expectations.
• Participate in QC Planning & Activities.
• Effectively use Quadrel and Command software.
• Perform concrete lab trials for new mixes and/or products.
• Provide technical product expertise to sales, dispatch and operations.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

• Education: Secondary education with experience in construction.
• Additional Education Preferred: Post‑secondary education in Civil technology, engineering, or equivalent; advanced students is a plus.
• Field of Study Preferred: Civil engineering, material engineering, applied sciences.

  Good computer skills for Windows‑based software (Word, Excel, Power Points).
• Travel Requirements: 30% work at the plant in Ottawa, 40% at job sites, 30% remote plants (Ottawa, Renfrew, Cornwall, Kempville, Aylmer).

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to create good relationships internally and externally with our customers.
• Bilingual in English and French.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
• Driven, proactive, high accountability, and self‑motivated.
• Capable of lifting 40 pounds.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize‑approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
