Overview
As a member of the military, Military Police Officers lead teams of Military Police members in enforcing laws and regulations on Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) establishments in Canada and abroad. They serve the entire CAF community including Regular and Reserve Force members, civilian employees, cadets, and family members.
Military Police Officers provide leadership and professional direction, manage resources and equipment, enforce discipline, control traffic, handle prisoners of war, detainees, and refugees, and manage criminal intelligence.
The primary responsibilities include:

- Conduct investigations and interviews

- Provide police and security advice to senior authorities
Work environment
Military Police Officers work within civilian and military justice systems, recognized as peace officers. They serve 24/7 in Canada or internationally, with work conditions varying by location.
Joining the Regular Force involves base postings and potential relocations after training. The Primary Reserve offers part-time roles, typically one night per week, with options for full-time employment and deployment.
