Mech Electrics is recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager for large‑scale building and energy works ’ll lead mechanical delivery across complex live buildings, managing plant upgrades and low‑carbon systems on a major operational estate.

Mech Electrics is a specialist recruitment partner within the built environment, supporting MEP contractors and energy delivery businesses working on complex, operational building portfolios.

We’re working closely with a long‑term client delivering mechanical and low‑carbon upgrades across the Gatwick estate, and have been appointed to manage recruitment for this role.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the heart of a programme upgrading how buildings at Gatwick are heated and supported mechanically.

Projects include:

* Major plant replacement

* Heat pump installation and integration

* Infrastructure upgrades across live buildings

You’ll be involved from planning through delivery, working closely with site teams and stakeholders to keep works moving safely and efficiently.

The Role

* Lead mechanical delivery across multiple live buildings

* Manage subcontractors, programme, cost and quality

* Coordinate plant installation and system upgrades

* Review design and resolve buildability challenges

* Plan works to minimise disruption to occupied buildings

* Own RAMS, sequencing and delivery strategy

* Drive commissioning and handover

This is a delivery‑led role for someone who enjoys running work, not just tracking it.

What We’re Looking For

* Proven Mechanical Project Manager experience

* Strong background in mechanical building services

* Experience delivering work in live environments

* Exposure to plant rooms, energy centres or low‑carbon systems

* Confident stakeholder‑facing communicator

* SMSTS

* Full UK driving licence
